Why Affirmations about Now Moments?

I chose this topic because Time is a precious gift and nobody has enough of it. If we’re not careful, we can easily miss the precious moments of our life and not enjoy the good times God has blessed us with.

“Now Moments” the very essence of life and the more you recognize when a Now Moment is happening in your life, the more you will enjoy life and create the Legacy Life you’ve always wanted.

Today’s affirmations will reprogram your mind to help you recognize and enjoy the Now Moments of YOUR life.

How to Use Affirmations

Here’s a quick reminder on how to get the most of your affirmation session – just remember these 3 steps:

  1. Sit in a quiet space as you listen to this audio. I’ll speak the affirmation and then give you time to repeat it.
  2. If you practice meditation, using a simple breath meditation during the process is beneficial, otherwise you an just breath naturally. Whatever your preference, be sure to visualize each affirmation in your mind’s eye as you listen & repeat. — your goal is to see yourself LIVING the affirmation. When you do this over time, you’ll encode the affirmation into your psyche and over time it will become your reality. (This is the “Law of Attraction” concept)
  3. Choose 2-3 affirmations from this list that you like best and write them down – then repeat these affirmations throughout the day to further ingrain them into your mindset. If you do these 3 simple things, you’ll be well on your way to using Affirmations to attract the new reality you desire.

Affirmations Work Best When you Combo them with other Weight Loss Programs

Let’s be clear – while affirmations are indeed powerful tools that really can help you deliver amazing results by harnessing the power of your mind to control your body, affirmations are not magic. If you eat poorly, don’t exercise, or don’t take care of yourself, then affirmations alone will probably not yield the weight loss results you are looking for.

HOWEVER, if you are using affirmations correctly and you make yourself believe that the affirmations are true, then over time, you will hardwire your mind into forcing your body to follow the path of the affirmations you are speaking to yourself. When this happens, then your mind and body will work together and look for ways to achieve your weight loss goals – you’ll likely find yourself wanting to eat healthier, wanting to put together a weight loss meal plan, wanting to get involved in a weight loss program, maybe even wanting to exercise more. All because you changed the way your mind thinks about your body image. Again I can tell you from first hand experience that this is true because it happened to me.

While I don’t count calories, use diet pills, or use weight loss calculators in my personal program, I can tell you that when I use affirmations for weight loss and I speak them to myself in the morning, they are particularly effective at helping me make a mind-body connection that keeps me on the right path during the way for my weight loss goals. In addition to affirmations I also use intermittent fasting and regular workouts, however I pretty much still eat what I want every day (and that includes chicken wings, beer, and BBQ on weekends!)

But my weight loss success all starts with affirmations because affirmations make me focus on eating right, help me stick to my intermittent fasting routine, encourage me to work out more often, and overall help me achieve positive results in my weight loss program.

Give them a try and see if they can do the same for you too.

Daily Affirmations & Positive Quotes that have the POWER to Transform YOUR Reality

Do you currently use positive affirmations and daily quotes as part of your daily routine? This type of positive self-talk is very powerful and, if used consistently can transform your reality. In this article, we’ll explore affirmations for a variety of life-changing motifs including affirmations for money, love, family, kids, weight loss, healing, anger management, parenting, confidence, law of attraction, gratitude, health, abundance, and more.

Ready? Lets go!

What is an Affirmation?

Dictionary.com has the formal definition of an affirmation as:

  1. “the act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed.
  2. the assertion that something exists or is true.
  3. something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true.”

Personally I like definition #2 because I find it the most powerful version of the definition from the standpoint of someone who wants to use affirmations to make their life better.

When looking at affirmations from that mindset, I think an even easier definition of affirmations is:

An affirmation is positive self-talk that you believe is true.

When you use affirmations in the form of positive self-talk and you allow yourself to believe in the good things you say about yourself, it’s a fact that these positive words have the power to change your life in wonderful ways. Don’t take my word for it, see what both psychologists and the medical community has to say on the topic of using positive self-talk.

The bottom line – affirmations in the form of positive self talk works.

Affirmations Changed My Life

For the first 46 years of my life, I thought affirmations were kind of corny, but that changed in 2017 when I finally gave them a chance — and WOW, I can’t believe the results using affirmations and the law of attraction had in my life!

I went from generally having an overly critical, pessimistic view of the world to instead having a more positive outlook on life, my personal health, and financial abundance. I used affirmations to help ‘attract’ myself info the best shape I’ve been in since college, get a new job where I’m making more money than ever before, write a new book, start multiple new websites, and change my outlook on life. More importantly affirmations have helped me become a better husband and father, grow my spiritual connection to God, and just become a happier, more relaxed person.

If affirmations have done all this for me, imagine what they can do for YOU too!

How to Use Daily Affirmations & Positive Quotes

As with all the wisdom I share, it’s not rocket science. The way I use daily affirmations and positive self-talk is pretty simple — yet the results create tremendous personal power.

How to use Affirmations – a Simple Three Step Process

  1. First I write the daily affirmations I want to focus on as part of my “SMART” Morning Routine. I write THREE affirmations or positive quotes each morning and I use them to specifically focus myself on key areas that I believe will help me ‘win’ the day.
  2. Next, I incorporate some simple Breath Meditation into the process with my affirmations — I sit quietly, use my breath meditation, and repeat each positive affirmation or daily quote three times. I try to visual each affirmation in my mind’s eye — my goal is to see myself living the affirmation. At the same time, I try to get my mind, body, and soul (yes, all three) to encode what it feels like deep within my personal DNA, because I know that when I do this, the affirmation has a greater chance to become a reality. This is essentially the process of using the affirmation as a law of attraction
  3. Finally, because I know I want to use affirmations every day, I keep every affirmation and quote on a google doc that is connected to all my mobile devices. Throughout the day, when I have downtime, I refer back to the doc, remind myself of the affirmations and quotes and repeat them to myself numerous times during the day.

Mike’s Notes:

  1. I became introduced to them after listening to some ‘journey’ meditations on BalanceInMe.com — I kept seeing all these affirmation audios with titles like I am healthy, I am grateful, I choose, etc. I figured ‘what the heck, let’s give them a try.’
  2. I’ve used a lot more than just 79 this year so far, but that’s because I repeat a lot of them on different days. I removed the repeats from the list and the result was ‘79.’ It’s magic!

Affirmations for Dads – Using the Power of Positive Self Talk to Become a Better Father

Affirmations for Dads

Affirmations for Dads
This article was featured on The Ascent Magazine via Medium

I’ve known about affirmations for years, but (stupid me) I never really believed they were anything more than childish ‘I think… I can… I think, I can, I think I can!’ self-encouragement. It wasn’t until last year that I discovered that affirmations were something more…something truly powerful. I can honestly say that the Affirmations for Dads I’m going to share with you today have made me a better father – and I’m hopeful they can help you too.

If you’re not currently using affirmations as part of your daily routine, then this article is for you. If you’re already using them, then perhaps I can give you a few more ideas to expand your affirmations repertoire.

Editors Note: I talk a lot about “Living a Legacy Life” on this blog. If this is a topic that interests you, be sure to not only follow this blog but also join the Your Legacy Life Facebook Group.

Affirmations – What Are They?

I wrote a more detailed article about all the ins and outs of affirmations in general and you can read it here:

https://thathelpfuldad.com/79-affirmations-that-will-transform-your-reality/

In the interest of time today, let’s just define affirmations as ‘positive self talk that has the power of change your life.’

Now if that sounds like a bit of overhype, don’t take my word for all this. Let me tell you about two triggers that created a change for me as far as affirmations are concerned.

The first was Tim Ferris’ book Tools of Titans. If you are not familiar with it, I suggest you read my review here:

https://thathelpfuldad.com/product/tim-ferris-tools-of-titans-book-review/

The second trigger was the website balanceinme.com and specifically the many free affirmations audio and video meditations they offer. Here is one example: http://balanceinme.com/positive-thinking-affirmations

After reading Tim’s book and then consistently listening to the affirmations on the BalanceInMe website I started to notice some positive changes in my outlook on life. That’s when it hit me…

Affirmations are more than just words. They are form of positive self-talk that carries the power of self-hypnosis with them.

Look, I’m no psychologist (actually my sister is!), and I can’t tell you any scientific research behind this. I’m just an Average Joe who discovered that affirmations made a difference in my life. In fact, the difference was so profound (my anger, frustration, and stress decreased, and my productivity, happiness, and focus increased) that I was able to learn how to be more present and live ‘in the moment’ more with my family. As a father in his mid-40’s who has 2 young (read high energy) boys, that’s kind of a big deal.

My hope is that by sharing these affirmations with you today, you will be able to create positive change in your life too.

Now that you have the affirmations, you need to know how to use them too.

Here’s what I do…

How to Use Affirmations for Dads Effectively

A Simple Three Step Process

  1. First I write the affirmations as part of my “SMART” Morning Routine. I write THREE affirmations each morning and I use them to specifically focus myself on key areas that I believe will help me ‘win’ the day.
  2. Next, I incorporate some simple Breath Meditation into the process — I sit quietly, use my breath meditation, and repeat each of the Affirmations for Dads three times.
  3. I also try to keep every one of my Affirmations for Dads on a google doc that is connected to all my mobile devices. Throughout the day, when I have downtime, I refer back to the doc, remind myself of the affirmations and repeat them to myself.

Use this process, or a version of it that works for you, and you’ll soon realize the true power that affirmations hold.

I wish you all the best.

Like to Meditate? Here’s a website with 99+ FREE meditation audios

I’ve been a big believer in the benefits of meditation for over 20 years, therefore I’m always on the lookout for new tools that can help me improve my meditation experience. There are tons of apps and websites that cater to the meditation crowd now but not all are created equal. One of my new favorites is a website called “Balance In Me.”

This site has 99 FREE meditations on its home page – which is pretty amazing in my book. The meditations range from just a few minutes at a time to over 30 minutes, and cover a wide variety of interests — from simple affirmations, to guided meditations, to self-help topics (dealing with anxiety, negativity, success, etc). I encourage you to check them out for yourself.

Here are some of my favorites:

Embrace Success

Affirmations for Entrepreneurs (most of the ‘affirmations’ are by a facilitator named “Joaquin” and I have found them to be quite good)

Find Your Purpose Self-Hypnosis

And there’s so much more – including ones for kids, sleep, chakras, etc. — check it out for yourself.

Here’s a few tips that may also help you:

  1. There are numerous facilitators so find the facilitator(s) you like best – to be honest with you, there are a couple facilitators that I don’t respond well too so if you open a meditation and are immediately turned off by the facilitator’s voice, just close that out and try another. You’re sure to find some you DO like.
  2. The website also has numerous apps you can download to your phone. I actually prefer the website over the apps but that’s just me. The benefit of the apps is that they will sort the meditations by topic. So, for example, if you ONLY want meditations on a specific topic (guided meditations, sleep, anti-stress) then you might like the app for that topic alone better. If, however, you want access to all the meditations, then save the website itself on your phone.
  3. If you really love the content, there is also a blog area here: Balance in Me Blog. There’s quite a lot of good written content here as well.

Best of luck with your meditations…
