Salt Fat Acid Heat Kitchen Essentials Buying Guide

While the following products are not specifically recommended by Samin, I’m including one or more products for each of the 27 kitchen essentials recommended by the book here in this section so you can use it as a handy buying guide as you build your own personal chef’s kitchen. These are the products I use and/or was inspired by the book to buy. I personally recommend them for you, however if you have an alternative that you like better, let me know in the comments – together we can take our cooking journey to new heights.

If you have a home cook in your life, any of these would make a great gift!

In the buying guide list, I’ll try to provide various price point options – from low cost but still highly recommended, to professional ‘workhorse’ level, and all the way up to top-shelf ‘finer things’ and ‘vanity’ level if you have a cook who likes to entertain with a bit of flair.

All of these products are a minimum of 4-star rated and most of them are Prime-eligible so you can get them quickly!

Please keep in mind, this is just a general list – your situation may require products (for example larger or smaller pots) or maybe you have a preference for copper-bottom vs. stainless, or perhaps you like a different brand than what you see here. YOU be the judge of what’s best for you and your kitchen will thank you for it.

  1. As a cooking enthusiast, I find myself wanting to buy all that stuff just to have it … I am victim of the belief that having the right stuff makes you a better cook (like a better saw makes you a more skilled carpenter, not true as I have discovered). But thank you, HelpfulDad, for laying out all of the essentials. I am going shopping …
