I learned so much from this book for my kamado cooking. Besides no less than 20+ recipes I actually use, this book taught me the following better than any other book so far…
- Best Practices for controlling the temp on the kamado
- Different ways to make the most of wood chips
- How to use a Dutch Oven to safely FRY inside your kamado
This book has my go-to recipe for getting a great sear on the steak without burning it, bacon candy, Nashville fried chicken, fried pickles, pork cracklins, some great desserts, and so much more.
It’s one of my TOP 3 Best Books for Kamado Cooking!
I use the Kamado Joe Cast Iron Griddle when I want to have a high heat surface that will still protect my food from the flames. What’s great about the Kamado Joe Cast Iron Griddle is that it is basically TWO griddles in one – one side is a flat griddle you can use to sear a steak or cook scallops, eggs, etc while the other side has raised grooves and works awesome when you are cooking bacon or other foods you want to keep away from the grease.

And if you are still in the market for a kamado grill, read about Why I Chose the Kamado Joe.
The Kamado Joe Cast Iron Grate is my go to grilling surface when I’m cooking steaks and want to get some awesome grill marks. It allows me to do a high heat cook without the food sticking to the grates. If you are cooking on a Kamado Joe, this is an affordable and useful accessory to have.
I love my Kamado Joe Classic II and if you enjoy outdoor cooking you will love it too. The Kamado Joe allows you grill, cold smoke, hot smoke, slow cook, sear, cook up to 800-degree wood-fire pizzas, rotisserie, and so much more. Yes, it’s a bit expensive, but it’s also worth it and the investment pays off in the quality of the food and the extra enjoyment you’ll experience as a result. Get yours today – you can find it on Amazon, Costco, Famous Tate, Pinch-a-Penny, and many other locations that sell higher-level outdoor grills.
